Real-name registration has been implemented. All new Pre-paid and new service plan SIM Cards with supply of local mobile telecom service must complete real-name registration before the relevant telecom services can be activated.

Meanwhile, all existing Pre-paid SIM Cards with supply of local mobile telecom service must complete real-name registration on or before 23 February 2023. The service provision of those unregistered existing Pre-paid SIM Cards are deactivated on 24 February 2023.

Unregistered existing Pre-paid SIM cards must complete real-name registration in-order to re-activate the service^ for continuous use. Customers of China Unicom Hong Kong could complete the real-name registration via the Company’s website https://www.cuniq.com/hk-name or go to the Company’s retail shops in person for assistance.

^Service reactivation is bound by the relevant service terms and conditions of the pre-paid SIM card. If the validity period or activation period of the pre-paid SIM card has expired, the service cannot be re-activated. The validity period of any value-added service during the deactivation period will not be compensated. All ordered fixed service charges will continue to be deducted during the deactivation period.

Individual User:

1. Name in Chinese (if applicable) and English
2. Date of birth

5. Registration of user aged below 16 requires endorsement of an adult aged 18 or above and information of that adult will be registered. A statement of the relationship between the adult and the individual user is required.

Corporate User:

【Inactivated Pre-paid SIM card】
(1) Input the mobile number or SIM card number (first 19 digits) of the Pre-paid SIM card.
(2) Select the type of identity document
(3) Take photo of the original identification document and upload the image concerned
(4) The system will automatically extract the name, date of birth, and identity document number from the image uploaded. User can make amendments if necessary
(5) Verify that the information is correct, confirm and tick the statement terms
(6) Click “Submit” (If the user verifies that the information is correct without amendment, registration is completed. If the user amends any personal information identified by the system, the real name registration will be completed after the manual review process is passed).

【Activated but Unregistered existing Pre-paid SIM card】
(1) Input the mobile number AND SIM card number (first 19 digits) of the Pre-paid SIM card.
(2) Select the type of identity document
(3) Take photo of the original identification document and upload the image concerned
(4) The system will automatically extract the name, date of birth, and identity document number from the image uploaded. User can make amendments if necessary
(5) Verify that the information is correct, confirm and tick the statement terms
(6) Click “Submit” (If the user verifies that the information is correct without amendment, registration is completed. If the user amends any personal information identified by the system, the real name registration will be completed after the manual review process is passed).

Note: A user who is aged below 16 years old has to be accompanied by an adult aged 18 or above for completing the registration, who will need to provide that adult’s personal information and original HKID card for registration at the same time.

Individual user: up to 10 pre-paid SIM cards
Corporate user: up to 25 pre-paid SIM cards

From 1 September 2024 onwards, Hong Kong identity card holders please use "iAM Smart" to complete the Real-Name Registration through our company's website/CUniqApp.
